New Law Regarding Facebook for MO Teachers

I am sure that none of you are "friends" with students on Facebook, but the law is changing in Missouri regarding online communication between teachers and students.  Some classroom teachers have class Facebook pages, and we all need to know the law regarding those interactions to protect ourselves.


The wording of the law said teachers "cannot have a nonwork-related website that allows exclusive access with a current or former student." This law is directed towards Facebook, but some districts may make policies towards blogs and classroom web pages.

Our union made a statement, not to friend any body under 18 ....so I haven't...hard when there is kids you babysat/friends/family IRL...but I explained...some of my coworkers still do it anyhow....

I was in awe at the outpouring of deep concern for me.

Red Flag: Make sure that there are actual goods being sold to customers.

Heck, even a first grader can answer that, and that show is not meant to be watched by first graders.
